Hello

Hello, my name is Michael. This is my first blog. I have always wanted to try my hand at blogging and now I'm going to make it a reality. I hope to be able to comment on current happenings from a Christian gay perspective.

Some people say that a person cannot be gay and Christian. However, the people who say that are not God. My faith is not based on whether or not anti-gay humans think I can be a Christian or not. It's based on my relationship with God. Therefore, I do not spend much time worrying what radical anti-gay activists think of my faith.

I happen to believe that homophobia is a sin like lying, stealing and murder. It is time for Christian gay people and our heterosexual supporters to stop being so timid and stand up for our faith and against homophobia.

It bothers me when Miss California can stand up and make anti-gay speech with the expectation that no one dare criticize it. It's as if freedom of speech and religion only applies to the anti-equality crowd. Pro-equality Americans are supposed to shut up and sit down and never criticize anti-gay comments like those from Miss California. This is nonsense. The anti-gay movement does not have the special right to revile others and not be criticized for it. Freedom of speech and religion goes both ways and millions of Americans find homophobia to be sinful and morally repugnant. Why should our freedoms be infringed upon by a bunch of anti-gay thugs? Miss California can say what she wants, but she cannot expect no negative response to her comments. There should be no more free passes on anti-gay speech.
